Mint - Cilantro Chutney



A very popular . versatile and a must have condiments in Indian cuisines is , Green Chutney , a sweet and sour flavor that often exists in fruit and vegetable versions. Mint , Coriander , Beetroot, Cucumber ,Onion, Apple , Papaya are just to name few... And Chutney is usually spiced and Tangy very similar to Relish / pickles , sauces & Salsa. Its a dip or spread without which the food tastes as if its missing the spark !
Every Indian street food , snack and Chaat item, whether its fried pakoras / Vadas , Tikkis, Samosas, Gol Gappas , pani puris , chips . grilled veggies or say sandwiches is only complete with its addition. So, let's get started with the ingredients -





Ingredients
Fresh Mint Leaves - 2 cups
Fresh Cilantro ( coriander / Dhaniya) - 1 cup
Ginger root- 2"
Green Chillies - 2
Black pepper- 1/2 tsp
Coriander seeds - 1/2 tsp
Chaat masala- 1/2 tsp
Roasted Cumin / corriander seed (powder) - 1/2 tsp
Sugar / Jaggery - 1/2 tsp
Salt- 1 tsp
Lemon- 1
Water- 2 tbsp
Optional: raw mango, dry pomegranate seeds, radish, peanuts & spring Onions + garlic.


Method
Wash Mint leaves and Cilantro leaves add chopped ginger , green chilies and dry masala . Next add lemon along with little water in a blender. Open it and now taste it for all the flavors  & salt .
Pour in a serving dish and serve it !
Enjoy this with any snacks , Bread sandwiches , Dosa or Paranthas and Fritters !

You can even add 1 tsp of yogurt and mix it very well .
